TRUST: The Story of Gorton Monastery
In his foreword Terry Waite CBE, patron of The Monastery and founder of Hostage International, describes this story as one that will bring hope to many by demonstrating that two ordinary people, with vision and commitment, can achieve what is in fact miraculous. This attractive, hardback book celebrates the 25th anniversary of The Monastery Trust and the remarkable work of those involved in the restoration and care of this precious heritage site. Within its 176 pages there are over 300 images of the site, gathered together and curated by Elaine Griffiths and photographer, Len Grant.
On the Same Lines - A Geomantic Journey
The fascinating life story of the Monastery's gifted geomancer's Melanie Thomas & David Ellis as they discover the intriguing geometric pattern of energy alignments or leylines, gradually emerging and covering the surface of our Planet Earth. With the help of intriguing guidance and uncanny coincidences linking sacred sites across the world, this infolding story leads to the discovery of the Monastery's sacred geometry and its role within the City of Light that is Manchester.
A Temple of Light Within a Future City of Light
This book describes the final part of our story working as Earthwise Geomantic Consultancy to help restore The Monastery in Gorton. Or should I say the Franciscan Friary in Gorton, where we discovered the sacred geometry used by the architect Edward Welby Pugin and were able to incorporate it into the rebuilding of the demolished front cloister to create a new Welcome Wing with our colleague Andrew Yeats of Ecoarc Ecological Architectural Practice. The book also describes the Friary’s role within the sacred geometry of Manchester, which David was inspired to call ‘The City of Light’.
